It's no surprise that NBC's Today Show ratings are in freefall. Yesterday's interview with Star Trek Into Darkness star Zachary Quinto lasted exactly 1 minute 12 seconds. WTF? The star of one of the most anticipated movies of the year gets less time than a Geico commercial. He got better respect and more time on Live with Kelly and Michael, which also showed a clip from the film.

Quinto goes from outerspace threats to surviving the deadly reviews of Broadway critics when he heads to New York next. The actor will join the amazing Cherry Jones in a revival of The Glass Menagerie heading to the Great White Way this September. This revival of the recent American Repertory Theatre production in Cambridge, Mass., will begin Shubert Theatre previews on Sept. 5, with a planned run-through in January 2014. Obviously Quinto won't be donning Spock ears for a third Star Trek film anytime soon.

Zoe Saldana, who plays Quinto's love interest in the Star Trek sequel, will appear at the Grove tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. for a taping of Extra. Are you kidding me? She gets to kiss the handsome Quinto on the big screen and then spend the day with Mario Lopez?  I need to become an actress. Saldana has been added to the cast of another franchise generating film, Guardians of the Galaxy. The film version of the comic book features her as the character Gamora. Wait, wasn't that a giant flying turtle who fought Godzilla and shot fire out of his ass? Joining her on this epic competition to The Avengers is Lee Pace as The Controller, Parks and Recreation's Chris Pratt as Star-Lord and The Walking Dead's Michael Rooker as Yondu.

Monday night's taping of Verses and Flow at the beautiful Belasco Theatre in Downtown L.A. featured more than talented spoken word artists and a performance by Anthony Hamilton. A rival to the handsome emcee Omari Hardwick was the beautiful Chante Moore who was introduced in the audience and gave an impromptu performance of her golden voice. Hardwick will be vying for hottest cast member against Soul Food's Darrin Dewit Henson in the upcoming thriller The Last Letter. A third season of Verses and Flow is expected to begin this August.

Law & Order: Criminal Intent star Kathryn Erbe reprises her role of Lt. Alexandra Eames on tonight's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Also in the episode are Magic City's Yul Vazquez and Nikita's Jessica Camacho. SVU's Mariska Hargitay has an Associate Producer title on the small-budget independent comedy Santorini Blues. The cast features Hargitay's SVU costars Dann Florek, Richard Belzer and Ice-T with his wife Coco.
