Perry Drops Out, Newt’s Ex Says He Wanted an ‘Open Marriage’
Karen Ocamb

Texas Gov. Rick Perry dropped out of the GOP presidential race and endorsed Newt Gingrich today. News reports indicate that ABC News will release excerpts of an interview with Gingrich’s second ex-wife Marianne prior to the CNN Republican presidential debate Thursday night, with the full interview airing later on Nightline. The interview is expected to be “explosive” with Gingrich—who has signed a pledge to “defend marriage between one man and one woman” allegedly saying he wanted an open marriage. ABC investigative reporter Brian Ross explains that he sought the interview with Marianne out of another story about an aborted FBI investigation of Marianne Gingrich for allegedly accepting money to influence her then-husband when he was the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
