2013 L.A. Pride Seeks Community Honoree Nominations

L.A. Pride is gearing up for another Pride season with a call for community members to share who they think should be this year's Community Honorees. Honorees can be people, organizations, businesses or groups who have made significant contributions to the fight for equality and furthering the LGBT movement.

Some recent Pride honorees include Chaz Bono, the Gay Straight Alliance Network, Phil Wilson of the Black AIDS Institute, California Assembly Speaker John Perez, Bravo's Andy Cohen, Dr. Virginia Uribe and activist Ivy Bottini.

"The L.A. Pride Community Honorees program is one of the most inspiring aspects of this iconic celebration," said Owen Ward, vice president of Communications for Christopher Street West. "We are looking for our heroes and heroines who are doing the work, making an impact, stepping up as allies and building our community by coming out of the closet. Honorees get to be in the parade and are celebrated at a number of pre-Pride events. It's the experience of a lifetime," he continued.

This year's L.A. Pride is set for June 7-9. All nominations for honorees must be in by 5 p.m. on Feb. 15. The full list of awards to be given out can be found here and the application here.
