Berlin Launches the World's First Hotel Network for LGBT Guests

Pink pillow, anyone?

Leave it to Berlin to take “gay-friendly” to a new level by debuting a new network of hotels that promises to cater to LGBT visitors in an unprecedented fashion.

VisitBerlin and participating Berlin hotel partners have launched a new brand called the “Pink Pillow Berlin Collection," which is an initiative designed to further strengthen Berlin’s standing as a one of the world’s leading travel destinations for LGBT visitors. Hotel members of the new “Pink Pillow Berlin Collection” have committed to taking extra steps to welcome LGBT travelers by adhering to defined guidelines that include an equally high standard for all guests, regular staff workshops, as well as an active engagement in social LGBT projects. Additionally, all of the participating hotels in the network will provide guests with information on LGBT interests and the gay scene in Berlin.

Among the 23 members included in the initial Pink Pillow Berlin Collection launch are hotels such as the nhow Berlin, Radisson Blu, Hotel InterContinental, The Westin Grand Berlin and Novotel Berlin Am Tiergarten—and that’s just for starters. Membership in the collection is expected to grow over time.

With an openly gay mayor, a thriving LGBT nightlife scene and the arrival of this new network, Berlin further burnishes its reputation not only as Europe’s capital of cool but also as one of its most open and welcoming metropolises.

If you haven’t already said “hello” to Berlin, there is seemingly no better time than the present to do so. A complete list of the partner hotels and organizations included in the Pink Pillow Berlin Collection is available at Meanwhile, more information on travel to Berlin is available at
