Toni Collette Goes 'Mental,' 'Glee' Films at DTLA's Million Dollar Theatre

A half-dozen films of interest are set to hit theatres this Friday. Australian director P.J. Hogan reunites with his Muriel's Wedding costar Toni Collette in the new comedy Mental. The former United States of Tara star plays the new nanny to five girls whose mother has a nervous breakdown in the wake of her husband's political ambition and infidelities. Other cast members include Anthony LaPaglia and Liev Schreiber.

Joining the release of Mental is the film version of Stephanie Meyers' novel The Host. This aliens-taking-over-human-bodies thriller is not about Scientology. It does feature Sucker Punch's Emily Browning, Total Recall's Bokeem Woodbine, Dark City's William Hurt, Red Ridding Hood's Max Irons and Inglorius Basterd's Diane Kruger.

An upcoming episode of Glee will feature scenes shot last week at the historical Million Dollar Theatre in Downtown L.A. The ornate building was built by Sid Grauman, whose apparent ADD issues caused him to sell it five years later and move on to build the famous Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.
