Underdog vengeance is at hand when an off-Broadway musical version of the 1988 Winona Ryder film Heathers comes to New York’s New World Stages this March. Following a stint in L.A., the production from Legally Blonde music/lyricist and Tony Award nominee Laurence O’Keefe with Reefer Madness lyricist and Emmy Award-winner Kevin Murphy, will be directed by Andy Fickman.
For those with diminished lives from not seeing the film, it tells the story of a high school outsider who, with the help of her boyfriend, devises a way to kill off the mean popular girls, most of which are named Heather, and make it look like they took their own worthless lives.
For those of you with demonic-behaving children at home, relief is at hand to show you aren’t the only ones. NBC is developing a four-hour miniseries remake of the 'I’m carrying Satan's love child'-themed Rosemary's Baby.
This version will take Ira Levin’s novel and place it in Paris but swill still portray a young married couple moving into a creepy apartment building with even creepier neighbors. The production will be directed by Total Eclipse’s Agnieszka Holland and scripted by American Horror Story's James Wong with Queen of the Damned's Scott Abbott.
