The second edition of the pioneering expo/party will kick off at Downtown Los Angeles’ all-new City Club on Nov. 9
Los Angeles, CA (Oct 14, 2014): When even Alaska begins to allow gay marriage, you know you’re on an unstoppable train toward nationwide equality. Today Frontiers Media announced the date for Hitched, the second edition of its pioneering gay and lesbian wedding event in Los Angeles.
Hitched, The Gay & Lesbian Wedding Event, will be held Sunday, November 9, from noon to 6 p.m. at the all-new City Club in Downtown Los Angeles. Visitors will enjoy spectacular 51st floor views from City National Plaza and a ‘Sunday Funday’ atmosphere that will make the daunting task of planning a wedding both joyful and very LGBT-friendly.
“We invite gays and lesbians and friends from around the country to join us for Hitched, the Gay and Lesbian Wedding Event,’’ says Michael Turner, CEO & President of Frontiers Media. “This is an unprecedented moment in the history of gay and lesbian civil rights. Hitched is the ultimate gay engagement party for couples here in Southern California and around the nation.’’
The first gay and lesbian wedding event Frontiers presented at the end of 2013 was a huge success, with over 1,400 visitors. In 2015 Frontiers Media will expand with Hitched events nationwide.
“The best compliment our exhibitors gave to us last year was that our show was unlike any other wedding event they had ever attended. We turned it into a big party,’’ says Lee Condon, producer of Hitched. “Many of our couples had never thought they would be able to plan a wedding for themselves. Our show really opened up a whole new world to them.”
At the event, couples will meet professionals who have planned gay weddings and can help them sort through choices about location, clothing, invitations and what type of ceremony they want to host. The event will be their one-stop shop for planning the wedding of their dreams in a supportive, festive, fun environment.
“Attending a wedding event is a great way for couples to meet wedding industry professionals all in one place,” says Kristin Banta, who has appeared on Bravo and the Style Network and whose leading wedding planning firm Kristin Banta Events is a partner with Frontiers Media in the event. “This is the perfect way to begin the process."
The tremendous amount of business about to hit the wedding, hospitality and tourism industries as tens of millions of Americans receive the right to marry is just now becoming clear. Coupled with the proven high purchasing power of gay Los Angeles residents and their nationwide influence on culture and taste, this is an opportunity major brands and small businesses alike won’t want to miss. New York City has already cited its Marriage Equality Act with having had a $259 million impact on the city.
Frontiers Media is at the forefront of an effort to present a new sensibility around LGBT lives. Frontiersmagazine has been revamped to better reflect the full, fascinating lives of Southern California gays. Frontiers Media has partnered with Outfest, the City of West Hollywood, L.A. Opera, Taschen Books, Flip and the Impulse Group to present events that engage the community like never before. The company will
