YouTube is about to get a lot more macho. That’s because Macho by MiTu has debuted its channel on YouTube, which kicked off earlier this month with its original series El Show with Chuey Martinez. The show is being produced by MiTu execs Doug Grieff, Beatriz Acevedo and TV vet Lisa Hackner. El Show is hosted by KIIS FM personality Chuey Martinez, an outrageous but loveable, larger–than-life 'urban everyman' who is equally comfortable conversing with A-List celebs as he is with amateur talent and everyday people. He's no stranger to the spotlight. The California native has hosted shows on MTV Tr3s and Travel Channel, and those are just to name a few.
El Show is a fiery and fast-paced talk/variety web series showcasing the most talked-about talent and influential YouTubers from the web. El Show curates and casts the best–of-the-best of these creators by providing them a fresh new outlet and professional forum to showcase their respective talents. The show touches on numerous subjects that directly affect the Latino community, which includes a gameshow-themed episode that covers stereotypes, a quinceañera fashion show and how to pull pranks on people.
This loose and casual Conan O’Brien-meets-America’s Got Talent for the digital age consists of an eclectic mix of star-studded guests and eye-popping talent, and has the energy and feel of a tequila-fueled all-night party, but with a never–ending guest list of multi-national influencers from around the world. El Show is shot at the much-talked-about new YouTube Space Flagship Studio in L.A. The set features a fully functioning bar and lounge acts that consist of drag queens, strippers, dancers and painters. And get this—E!’s Chelsea Handler has her Chuey, so it was only fitting that El Show’s Chuey has his Chelsea, who is actually played by Ashley Brooks. This is something you definitely can’t miss!
Over the last few years, YouTube has become a proven incubator of talent and a social playground for literally hundreds of millions of users from around the world—who upload 48 hours of video every minute! Many of the platform’s breakout personalities have become international superstars, brand ambassadors and social influencers to millions of loyal followers who sign up to become subscribers to their personal YouTube Channels.
