New Year's Eve 2014

Have you decided on what you will be doing to ring in the new year? Well, if you want to do it right by having an unforgettable good time, then look no further. A star-studded lineup of performers, which includes A-list DJs, a beautiful venue and some of the sexiest people around, can only mean one thing—that this is an event you simply cannot afford to miss. Brandon Anthony, Joe Sparks, Frank Romo and the other geniuses at Platinum Productions are busy at work putting together the only place to be this New Year's Eve. I recently chatted with Joe Sparks, who let me in on what the bash will entail. If you’ve ever been to one of his events, then you know that this über party producer knows exactly what he’s doing.

Your big New Year's Eve bash is just around the corner. Tell me, what we can expect?
Danity Kane! I am so excited to have MTV's favorite girl band performing this NYE 2014 at the Factory. With a name like that, we could not cut back on any expenses, so we booked six of the biggest DJ names in the industry—DJ Josh Peace, Kitty Glitter, Ryan Kenney, Kidd Madonny, Morningstar and Woody Woodbeck. Each of these amazing DJs will be playing in one of the three dance floors we'll have available that night. They all have such a distinct forté and taste for music, so we expect to have the most eclectic sounds ever! We'll also have a video countdown that integrates with the music playing at the Factory highlighting this year's biggest moments. Expect your favorite and premier Magnum Thursdays dancers on the poles and on the boxes keeping the energy high, a Diamond drop at midnight and a party that doesn't stop until dawn. (6 a.m.) Phew!

Aside from Dainty Kane, who else is performing? Are there surprises in store?
Well, I certainly don't want to spoil all the fun. I will say this—contrary to popular belief, Danity Kane isn't scheduled to perform at midnight or soon after. They'll be gracing the stage quite a bit after our diamond drop at midnight. We're open until
6 and we intend to keep the energy up and high for the long haul. So setting off all the bells and whistles at midnight may be overkill. We have so much in store for our patrons this New Year's Eve, it's truly exciting just talking about it.

Why should partygoers choose your event as the place to be to ring in the new year?
This will no doubt be the biggest party of the year, and given the team producing it, rightfully so. Last year we had 2,000 patrons come through our doors, and that was without the amazing talent we have this year. We certainly plan on making history with this event and would love for everyone to be a part of it.

Congrats on your continued success with your events. It’s safe to safe to say that everything you touch turns to gold. What’s your secret?
I am very flattered by your remark, Victor! Thank you so much. In all honesty I think the success of the events I put together is rooted in a very simple equation—having a strong work ethic, drive and determination will yield the best event possible. You also need a solid team to rely on, and I am grateful to have my Platinum Productions team founded this year to be my support group. We're a small promotional and marketing group and very tightly knit. At this time I would have to acknowledge Victor Hugo Murillo, Frank Romo, Christian Riojas and Juan Felix for their unprecedented efforts in just making things happen and taking on whatever task was necessary to produce a great event. I wouldn't be where I am now without them, and for that I am eternally grateful.

On that note, 2013 was a big year for you. What’s on the agenda for 2014?
Yes, 2013 was a big year for me. Producing #Heathers, Once Upon A Time in Weho, cross-promoting for Ciara, hosting L.A. Pride's main stage and being a part of Magnum Thursdays have all been privileges and blessings I don't take lightly. I was blessed to be working with so many big names and companies this year, I sometimes can't believe it. I strongly feel events and parties, like society, are always changing and evolving, so I am excited to see how things will change the promoting scene this upcoming year. One thing is for sure—wherever you see my name, know that I'll be giving it my all to make a memorable party happen. My networking circle has increased drastically this year, so bigger projects are definitely in store and I can't wait to have all of you participate in them. Lastly, I really want to push for more philanthropic events that help our LGBTQ community. I have been very blessed to be working with and to have learned so much from being a part of the LGBT community. I want to increase my efforts to make sure others do as well. With the vast amendments involving LGBT rights, we can all conclude that we're living in history, and I certainly want to be a part of its positive and progressive change. Thank you for your time, Victor. I hope to see you and all my Latinos this New Year's Eve at the Factory for Danity Kane's New Year's Eve Gala!
