Coming to Theatres: 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Villain Cast, Katey Segal Joins 'Pitch Perfect 2'

With only a few months left before its release, Marvel has announced that Josh Brolin has been cast to play the villain Thanos in Guardians of the Galaxy. The character, who appeared in the post-credits Easter Egg for The Avengers will be CGI but voiced by Brolin. The actor is also producing and starring in Quasimodo, another remake of The Hunchback of Notre Dame

More evidence that Brolin is in demand comes with news that he has been added to the cast of Joel and Ethan Coen’s latest film project, Hail, Caesar! The original script, written by the siblings behind O Brother, Where Art Thou?, centers on a 50s-era PR expert who works overtime to protect the reputations of Hollywood celebrities. Brolin will be joined by Coen brothers vet George Clooney for this future Universal Studios release.

Sons of Anarchy’Katey Sagal has joined the sequel Pitch Perfect 2. This latest chapter traces Fat Amy and Becca during their senior year at Bardem University. Joining Sagal are The Hunger Games’ Elizabeth BanksTwilight’Anna Kendrick and Workaholic’s Adam DeVine. Banks is both producer and director of this film franchise, which grew from the book by Mickey RapkinKay Cannon, who wrote the script for the first film, repeats that responsibility on this sequel.

Weeds vets Elizabeth Perkins and Guillermo Diaz reunite in the independent film Building Bridges. The project is based on a true story about a small-town engineer who tries to find the will to live and love again after a violent act takes his entire family. Diaz also reunites with two of his Scandal costars, Cullen Douglas and Jeff Perry, plus Scandal’s executive producer, Tom Verica, who directs.
