As summer returns, droves of gay men from across Southern California are attracted like moths to the neon lights of Las Vegas. A short detour by land or by air, guys and girls of all stripes file out of our City of Angels in search of something a bit more ... sinful. With so much to offer by way of nightlife, dining, luxe accommodations and live entertainment, it’s easy to seem a fish out of water upon arrival, but we’ve got your next trip to Sin City covered.
Temptation Sundays
This pool party takes place every Sunday from 1-7 p.m. May through September at the Luxor hotel’s north pool. Host J.Son and resident DJ Matt Lucio have created what many call the best gay pool party around. Entry is only $10 for Luxor hotel guests and $20 for others.
XPOSED! Pool Party
Launched earlier this year, it’s a weekly Saturday afternoon party at the Tropicana Beach Club with great DJs and cabanas and daybeds to rent. The two heated pools are closed off to the general public and reserved only for the gays, along with waterfalls, palm trees, volleyball courts and more. The party also brings in a ton of celeb performers.
Sin City Shootout
The eighth annual installment of this sports festival will take place Jan. 15-18 next year, the largest annual LGBT sporting event in the world. It started out as an LGBT softball tournament but has since become much more, with over 7,000 athletes competing in 18 different sports. During the day the players take the field, and at night they ravage the Vegas bars.
Gay Days
Thousands of guys from across the country come to Vegas to party for Gay Days, taking place Sept. 2-8 this year. This third installment will include a travel-retail expo, pool parties and other events around town, with a portion of proceeds going to local nonprofits.
